This old barn can be seen from Highway 1 on the California coast, just south of Half Moon Bay. Although I usually paint a scene as I see it, the horse that was in the meadow on the day I took photos for this painting looked to be older than the barn, and slightly more decrepit, so I "borrowed" a handsome horse who lives near my house.
